Interested in Joining Our Lab?
Graduate Student Researchers
Our lab is currently seeking highly motivated graduate student researchers to join our team. Information about applying to our graduate program is available on the UD Chemistry and Biochemistry website (https://www.chem.udel.edu/graduate/prospective-students).
Undergraduate Student Researchers
Our lab is always excited to have undergraduate students at UD interested in joining our team. No prior research experience is required. First year undergraduates are encouraged to apply!

Regardless of your intended career path conducting research as an undergraduate is an excellent opportunity to explore new areas of science, learn more about different career paths in science, strengthen your problem solving and critical thinking skills in new ways, and improve your communication skills through presenting and discussing your research. Joining our team will give you the opportunity to work with graduate student mentors to learn new synthesis techniques, use advanced characterization instrumentation available on campus, and contribute to making new discoveries in science.

Typically at any given time undergraduates in our research lab are either earning course credit or are paid to conduct research in our lab.
Course Credits:
-
After joining the lab, students can enroll in CHEM 468
-
Typically we expect students to work three hours in lab per credit hour they decide to take. Grades are initially assigned as Pass/Not Pass. These can then be converted to a letter grade if a lab report is written describing your progress in research.

-
For research over the Summer students can always apply for the UD Summer Scholars or Fellows program
-
Over the Winter Term students can apply for support through the UD Winter Fellows
-
We often also have grants which can support undergraduate research on an hourly basis during the semester.

Interested students can email Prof. Davidson directly. Please attach a CV/Resume, include your current year at UD, and what semester you would be available to start research. Please also include "undergraduate research" somewhere in the email subject line. We will then set up a meeting to discuss your interests and career plans.
